Ravi brings many years of music industry marketing experience to the world of aviation. He premiered his lecture "Making General Aviation Sexy" at Sun 'n' Fun in Lakeland Fl (the country's second largest aviation show), and then at EAA's AirVenture in Oshkosh WI (the world's largest aviation show), and will begin writing for AOPA's Flight Training magazine
later this year.

The childhood fascination with aviation was probably sparked by his father's colorful stories about flying at "twice the speed of sound" as a passenger on the Concorde while traveling on international business. Moreover, his father once financed an airline with Apollo 17 astronaut Eugene Cernan, and having "the man on the moon" hanging around the house was surely a source of inspiration. Nevertheless, Ravi decided to pursue his other passion professionally.

The musician originally from New York City—now residing in the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia following a three-year sojourn in New Orleans—has appeared on Letterman, Leno, Saturday Night Live, Today Show, Good Morning America, etc., and has performed at the most prestigious venues including Madison Square Garden, Louisiana Superdome (the world's largest indoor arena), and a White House Christmas Party. Ravi also appears annually at one of the music industry's most celebrated events: "All Star Guitar Night."

The "crème de la crème" of the entertainment industry frequently calls on Ravi. Mercury Records/PolyGram hired him in 1997 to play guitar on tour with three-time Grammy nominee Hanson (the top selling band in the world that year). Simon & Schuster published his tour journal/autobiography. Several music trade magazines feature Ravi's articles, and he has a monthly column in Music Inc. magazine. Berklee College of Music, Pepperdine University, and others including NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) and most music business conferences host his lectures. The world's largest manufacturer of guitars and pianos, SMC (Samick Music Corp.), sought out Ravi to represent Greg Bennett Guitars as the brand's national electric guitar clinician. Most recently, TrueFire contracted Ravi to film several long-form guitar instructional videos and join their faculty of world famous guitarists.

With professional endorsements & business savvy, Ravi has released CDs independently and toured extensively for CD, book signings, and product clinics; as well as performing with his band. Now he uses his publicity experience to promote General Aviation.

Ravi, of Indian and German descent (and grand nephew of India’s first Prime Minister, Nehru), was born in Washington, DC. He grew up in a "Wall Street" family (his two older brothers and father work in finance), but Ravi traveled down a very different road.
